B4224 Closure – Pedestrian Access Replacement Bus Service
Update from Herefordshire Council
While a pedestrian walkway is currently open for use, once the soil nails have arrived and work starts the walkway will have to be closed to allow sufficient and safe room for the construction activities.
Whilst we have been working with contractors on options for escorted access through the site it is clear the time taken to facilitate this safely would have a significant impact on the length of the programme as much as up to 7 weeks.
As opening the road as quickly as possible is our priority we continue to look at other options. As a result a free shuttle bus will be provided between Holme Lacy, Mordiford and Fownhope to facilitate those that were using the pedestrian access for commuter and school run purposes.
Please see the attached letter for more information.
